The ski station of Les Arcs is situated in the French Alps at an altitude of approximately 800 to over 3,220 meters above sea level. It is located on the border between the influences of the Mediterranean and the temperate climate. In addition, high altitudes make the climate more harsh here than at the foot of the mountains. The annual rainfall amounts are also relatively high, reaching even 4,000 millimeters. It is associated with a large number of days with rainfall. In a month, it is about 1/3 of its duration. The influence of the Mediterranean climate is particularly evident in winter, when temperatures remain relatively high despite high altitudes. And although they allow the snow cover to persist, the frost does not prevent skiing. Additionally, the snow cover above 2,500 meters is maintained throughout the year.
