Nice is one of the most famous resorts of the Cote d’Azur. Picturesquely situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains visible on the horizon, it is visited by thousands of tourists every year. Nice is located in the Mediterranean climate zone. It is characterized by hot summers and mild, warm winters. Summer temperatures reach over 30 degrees Celsius during the day. Nice is known primarily as one of the most important resorts in France. It is no wonder then that its biggest tourist attractions include the beach and seaside boulevards: the Promenade de Anglais lined with palm trees and the Nice Quai des Etats-Unis leading to the old Vieux district. Old Nice is also particularly noteworthy, with the most important monuments of the city:
