Imports of goods contained in personal luggage
In accordance with Article. 41 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 1186/2009 establishing a Community system of reliefs from customs duty, goods contained in personal luggage of travelers coming from third countries are exempted from import duties, if imported goods are exempted from value added tax (VAT) under the provisions of national law adopted pursuant to the provisions of Council Directive 2007/74/EC of 20 December 2007 on the exemption of goods przywożonych by travelers from third countries with value-added tax and excise duty.
These issues are dealt with in Article. 56 of the Act of 11 March 2004 on tax on goods and services (Journal of Laws No. 54, item. 535 as. Amended.).
