Varna is the third largest city in Bulgaria. It is picturesquely situated on the Black Sea and in the summer it becomes the capital of all resorts. Varna, as well as the whole of Bulgaria, is located in a temperate climate, which makes the summers there warm and relatively dry. A little rain is possible, but it never lasts too long. Winters tend to be rather mild with the lowest temperatures around 0 ‘C. In summer, air temperatures can reach 30’ C during the day and 17 ‘C at night.

As we mentioned at the beginning, Varna is a very old and historic city. Lots of Orthodox Churches, various Roman buildings, basilicas and Byzantine fortifications. Regardless of the weather or bad weather, it is worth taking a leisurely stroll around the city, so as not to miss any interesting places. In addition to the already mentioned monuments, be sure to see the mausoleum of Władysław III of Varna and the Thracian burial mounds. They will delight with the craftsmanship and richness of finishing even those who are not familiar with ancient architecture at all.
