December in Bulgaria will surely welcome us with rain and strong winds. Most of the time, high in the mountains, snow is already lying and some routes are open. So despite the not very pleasant weather, it is worth going to Bulgaria and trying your hand at winter sports, and you should know that in some Bulgarian tourist resorts professional ski and snowboard competitions are organized. Weather and temperature.
December is the time of the first snowfalls, especially in mountainous regions. Air temperatures range from 0-10 ‘C during the day. Nights are a bit cooler and amount to around 0 ‘C, although in December the first frosts are possible. In the mountainous areas it is a few degrees cooler and often blows gusty winds. The water temperature is really low, around 10’C.
