April is the month when everyone is looking for the first signs of the coming spring. In Bulgaria, as in Poland, April can be very changeable. Most often there is snow in the mountains, although in the lower parts not all routes are open and suitable for downhill skiing. So if we fail to ski in April, it is worth going to Bulgaria to explore and learn about the history of this interesting country. Remember that Bulgaria is not only beaches on the east coast and exclusive resorts, it is also a very old place full of monuments.
Weather and temperature.
Although in April it can still be quite cold in Bulgaria and the weather is very changeable, it is worth going there just then. Less crowds and low prices will allow you to explore this country along and across. Returning to the weather and temperatures, in April the air temperature during the day is around 10’C. Nights are always a bit cooler, with temperatures around 5’C. It is cooler in the mountains, especially in the high parts, where there is still a thick layer of snow. Spring is also a fairly rainy season, especially in the north and in mountainous areas.
Sightseeing.
There is no shortage of monuments and interesting places in Bulgaria. You must visit Varna, where the historic cathedral and theater deserve special attention. A small fishing town called Sozopol is very interesting, where you can admire 19th-century houses and you must also visit the local museum to see the wonderful, historic collection of Greek vases.
Other places worth seeing in Bulgaria are:
- Nessebar
- Ropotamo
- Burgas
- Primorsko
- Petrified Forest
- Balchik and many more.
